February in Olonzac

February 23, 2014  Outside Olonzac
I'm not trying to tease you but these pictures were taken today on the edge of Olonzac as I walked my dog Arlo. What you see blooming is first rosemary and then lots of almonds in pinks and white with a little mimosa, in yellow, for contrast. I also saw my first wild iris of this spring and a pink rose is blooming in the garden. I hope you see the variety of landscape right on the edge of town.
I walked an hour long circuit on a marked trail that starts on the edge of town and then headed off into the vineyards although it's too early for them to be budding out. What is really unfortunate is that you can't hear the birds singing, the bees buzzing and see the variety of butterflies.
The horses are there trying to block the view of Olonzac. Arlo did a great job of pretending they weren't there.
